01Overview

What the Strength Index shows

Strength Index rolls up your top estimated 1RM per exercise into a single number for the selected period. It updates with your recent training instead of carrying lifetime peaks forward, giving you a real-time pulse on your current capability.

  • Hybrid 1RM formula blends Brzycki and Epley models
  • Line chart reflects rises, plateaus, and dips based on recent performance
  • Automatically filters and keeps only the best 1RM per exercise in each bucket
  • Fully adaptable to LB or KG based on your preference

02Methodology

How Strength Index is calculated

Our proprietary algorithm processes every set you log to ensure your strength metric is both accurate and motivating.

1

Grouping

Workouts are bucketed into time intervals based on your selected range.

2

Estimation

Every set receives an estimated 1RM using our hybrid Rep-Max formulas.

3

Filtering

We identify and keep only the single best 1RM for each unique exercise.

4

Aggregation

Exercise maxima are summed to produce your final Strength Index.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is 1RM equivalent?

It is an estimated one-rep max derived from your logged sets. This allows us to compare different rep ranges (e.g., a heavy triple vs. an AMRAP set of 10) on a single unified scale.

Why does the line sometimes dip?

Unlike a 'lifetime PB', the Strength Index reflects what you've actually done in each time bucket. If you take a deload week or change your exercise selection, the aggregate might shift accordingly.

Is this only for powerlifting?

Not at all. While 1RM is a common powerlifting metric, Strength Index works for any exercise where you track weight and reps, helping bodybuilders and general trainees track progressive overload too.

Which periods are available?

Week and month are free for all users. Power users can unlock 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month views with a Pro subscription.
